Ryu Sujeong: Background
Ryu Sujeong is from Daejeon, South Korea, and started her musical journey as a member of the popular girl group Lovelyz in 2014. She later began her solo career in 2020 with the release of her debut EP “Tiger Eyes,”. The EP was warmly received and in 2021, after the Lovelyz went on hiatus and her contract with Woollim Entertainment ended, Sujeong took a bold step to establish her own independent label, House of Dreams.
Founded in 2021, House of Dreams was born out of Sujeong’s desire to have greater creative control and to create a nurturing environment for artistic expression. Working with a large group can have restrictions, so House of Dreams was a reflection of Ryu Sujeong’s need for creative freedom.
With House of Dreams, Sujeong hoped not only to focus on her solo career but also to foster a collaborative space for other artists. The label is built on principles of artistic freedom, integrity, and the belief that music should be a true reflection of the artist’s soul.
