The Korg Poly-800 is a classic analog synthesizer from the 1980s. It was the first affordable polyphonic synthesizer from Korg and was released in 1983.

The Poly-800 featured 8 voices of polyphony, two oscillators per voice, two envelope generators, and two low-frequency oscillators (LFOs).

It had a built-in sequencer, a ribbon controller, and a simple arpeggiator. The Poly-800 was also the first synthesizer to feature Korg’s famous “Digital Synthesizer System” (DSS), which allowed users to digitally program patches and store them in memory.

The Poly-800 was designed to be an affordable and easy-to-use synthesizer. It featured a simple layout with intuitive controls, making it accessible to beginners. Despite its simplicity, the Poly-800 was capable of creating a wide range of sounds.

It was popular among electronic musicians and producers of the era and was used on a number of hit records.

The Poly-800 was discontinued in 1985 and has since become a collector’s item. It is still highly sought after by vintage synth enthusiasts and is considered to be one of the best analogue synthesizers of its time.
